DESCRIPTION:The Hap Rapp Memorial Track Meet is the oldest community servi
 ce project of the Camarillo Rotary Club. The Meet began in 1960\, when loc
 al Rotarians created a first-ever organized track and field competition fo
 r local boys and girls at the elementary and junior high school levels. Th
 ere were only a few schools then\, but the Meet has grown with the communi
 ty\, and now\, hundreds of young people representing more than a dozen loc
 al schools compete each year. The Meet was named the Hap Rapp Memorial Tr
 ack Meet in 1988\, in honor of  late fellow Rotarian and friend Hap Rapp\
 , who devoted so much of his time and talents to the event over many years
 . Ribbons are awarded for first- through fifth- place in each event\, and 
 high point winners in each class receive a trophy. Another award\, the Gu
 y Craig Memorial\, named after the Charter President of the Camarillo Rota
 ry Club\, is presented to the school which demonstrates the best preparedn
 ess\, sportsmanship\, conduct at the meet and cooperation in all events.
